Bikes at Shannon.

My BMW sharing space with some other  bikes in the display arena.
BSA, Suzuki 850 (with sidecar) and a Harley-Davidson.
I like the new Trumph Bonnevilles.
How a motorcycle should look.

The next three photos were taken in the car park. It costs the same per person to enter the show whether you are displaying your vehicle or not, so I'm not sure why these owners didn't display their worthy items.
'91 Suzuki GSX-R 400

1984 Yamaha XJ750.

1990 Suzuki VX800.

Supercheap Shannon Auto Spectacular 2018 (6).

Rear view of the very tidy Mazda 1800.

Big red '63 Thunderbird and caravan.

Old Rover Cyclops is a regular attender.

1994 Lincoln Mk VIII  is not an everyday car in NZ.

Volkswagen 1300 had apparently been stored for some 50 years.
Completely original, it was almost as good as one fresh from the factory.

Triumph TR7 is for sale.
I could never quite like the styling of these.
Fiat's X1-9 was a far prettier car for a similar concept.

More Morris 1000s.

The black and white of Mk 3 Zodiacs.

'64 EH Holden.
Nice colour, nice whitewalls, but I hate those wheels.

Very likeable '68 Chevrolet El Camino.

Holden Premier, '76 model.

The cars and the crowd.

'74 Dodge Challenger heads home.

Ford Capri Owner's Club.

Supercheap Shannon Auto Spectacular 2018 (5).

HB Viva GT not a common sight.

I love the excess of chrome of the American pick-ups of this age.
1958 GMC.

Type 2 VW campers in this condition are worth a lot.

Lovely clean Statesman with 308 power.

Cool rear window sign.

" The Blues", from Ford, Nissan and GM.

'58 Ford Fairlane with nicely chosen paint.

Comparing Chrysler rear ends.
Australian Valiant Charger ('73) and American Barracuda ('69).

'54 Ford Skyliner is the sort of thing I like to see at these shows.

1970 Holden Utility has the small 161 cubic inch motor.

'70 Ford Torino Cobra is a big beast.

This owner was very proud of his De Soto Coupe which he had just managed to get back on the road after discovering it in very poor condition.
A '35 model by my reckoning.

'68 or'69 AMX is for sale
Around $21,000.

Fiat's X1-9 is a superb handler, but not enough power on the original 1500cc models.

Austin 1800 is well weathered.

Mag wheels are the only non standard items visible on this 1963 Mercury Meteor.
Very nice.

The variations in models and colours of Ford Model As is astonishing.

Supercheap Shannon Auto Spectacular 2018 (4).

I really like this
1959 Chrysler New Yorker Saratoga.

Corvettes.

Beautiful 1964 Chevrolet Corvette.

Nice to see some early Jap stuff being preserved.
1983 Mitsubishi Sigma 2.0 litre.

Immaculate Chrysler Valiant Pacer 4 door with the original wheels and trims.

1971 Ford Rancher Squire.
It's a pity the surround of the woodgrain looks so "plastic".

'69 Ford Falcon GT 351.

I'm not always inspired by the big Thunderbirds, but I'll make an exception for this one.

1978 Holden Kingswood Ute 202cid.

You don't see many of these.
1986 Lancia VX coupe.

Long Cadillac De Ville from 1964.
429cid.

Toyota Corolla KE10 were once common on our roads and when you do see them now they are usually highly modified.
Nice to see a standard 1969 model with 1077cc engine.
And from the Nissan brand of a similar period, a stock standard Datsun 1200.

Nice ute conversion of a 1965 Ford Cortina.

Mk 1 Ford Escorts were a popular car to modify when I was younger.
I still like them.

The second Mazda 1800 at Shannon.
This one a superb example.
