Holiday (2)...The Kaimais

On our way from Putaruru to Tauranga, there had been an accident on the Kaimai hill road. This slowed traffic down considerably, but also bunched it up so that I didn't need to wait long between trucks when taking photos.

It doesn't seem that long ago that a DAF was a rarity in NZ,
but now that they are part of  PACCAR, rigs like this 2017 CF85.510 are everywhere.

Scanias are also very popular and not only as a highway truck.
This 2016 R620 doing great service as a logger.

Nicely presented 2011 Western Star 4884FX pulling two short containers spread over 10 axles.
